  • Horse Areana

During this time of working in the country, McClain & Stone Construction get the opportunity to install a 160 ft x 80 ft horse arena. We began this journey by taking about 4-6" of clay & grass out the area we're working on. Here is Dustin getting started on breaking ground. Working on a pretty steep incline of land chose to be tricking in figuring grade needed so drainage would work right. McClain & Stone push dirt around where it creates a crown in center of horse arena as well as proper drainage. In the process, McClain & Stone installs a horse fence made of 2 3/8" drill stem with 3/4" sucker rod placed at proper height. Drilling holes every 9 ft apart @ 3ft depth with concrete is how this went down. Installing a good layer of sandy topsoil is best for the horses when their owners train with them. We also installed caps on every end of all pipes to ensure no sharp edges anywhere. To see finished horse arena with gates and all check out our Facebook page @ McClain & Stone Construction via Dustin Stone. Thanks

  • Tiny Home

There is nothing better than working in the middle of nowhere and this project is going to be a good one in Winnsboro, Tx. First, McClain & Stone Construction take a 50 ft covered shed down to begin the build. Now it's time for prep work, by adding compacted dirt on sloped side to gain level ground and prepare for a 6" concrete slab with footers as well as piers. We plan on building a Sloped Roof style home with extended covered porch that heads down the hill. April 16, we continue digging footers along with drilling piers. It's nice to work in the country. This home is going to be filled with big windows & doors to accommodate the great view. Can't wait to get started. Updated pics! Slab is a smooth finished floor ready for framework. Also installing 16' x 22' porch with cover on the front. Amazing view. Building 22 ft x 16 ft porch facing 3/4-acre pond. Pictures on the way. Building walls at 14 ft tall on front going down to 10 ft on back. 8 ft tall French door & big windows will make nice view. Metal trusses go up next with brackets to mount to wood top plate of framing. Installed 1/2" OSB for walls & roof decking. Put down synthetic wrap down on roof to prepare for a snap-lock metal panel which are 16" wide by 32 ft long.

  • Old Barn renovation

Over here in Grand Saline, Tx where an old 100 yr. old barn resides, the client wanted to raise the roofs to accommodate their equipment. McClain & Stone took on the job with great delicacy. We installed new telephone poles to reach designated height as well as building a new header with reclaimed wood. We also added a new 60 ft by 20 ft lean-to with reclaimed metal roofing. This old barn renovation was accomplished with safety and excitement. Here are a few pictures when under construction. While under construction, Mcclain & Stone seen the cows looking at us thinking we have food for them. These fellas are definitely feed well. The owner mixes molasses with their supper. This old barn has been through a lot of different weather, so renovations involved replacing damaged wood along the way. Having a new 20 ft x 60 ft lean-to will be very helpful to cover all of the machinery they have.
